A very rare copy of The History of wales Comprehending the Lives and Succession of the Princes of Wales form Cadwalader the Last King to Lhewelyn the Last Prince of British Blood. This is the newly augmented and improved by W Wynne A M and Fellow of Jesus College Oxon and printed in 1697 by M Clark for the author and to be sold by R Clavell at the Peacock at the west end of St Paul's. the original leather covers are worn, and damaged to the edges - the back cover has become separated from the rest of the book and the front cover has been repaired in the past with sellotape. The inside cover has a book plate stating that the book was given to the Pontypridd \Public Library and there is a second book plate on the inside flyleaf showing the book was in Pontypridd Libraries in 1894 - there are also signatures in ink of 2 previous owners - Griffin of St Edmund Hall Oxon and Charles Evans of Hereford. The internal pages are still tightly bound together and are discoloured as is appropriate to the age of the book.
