The Home Country of Robert Louis Stevenson

£29.99

Product description

The valley of the water of Leith, as this book could have been subtitled, is described in exhaustive detail by Geddie. He discusses the influence on R.L. Stevenson but more extensively the geography, economics and history of Leith as perceived in 1898. A fascinating snapshot of a time and place.

This copy has numerous scratches on the covers and spine, which are faded and bent at the edges and corners. The book as a whole is slightly bent There are pencil notes of previous prices on the first blank page and the initial pages ( title page, picture of Stevenson on etc.) all have a stain in one corner and numerous small marks. The body of the text is, however, very clear with surprisingly little fading.
