The series began in 1960, and was edited under the supervision of Dr. Paul E. Blackwood of the Office of Education at the U.S. Department of Health, Education and Welfare.

This book contains the history of humanity and its relation to the stars, with Ancient Egypt up to modern times, as well the science behind some of the greatest wonders of our universe such as eclipses.
