Product description

A law book from 1825, third volume of a five volume set, twenty-fourth edition. Has the name of Sir Robert Peel, the Victorian Prime Minister and founder of the Metropolitan Police Force, on the front pastedown.

Condition: Name has been looked at by a handwriting expert who believes it is extremely likely to be genuine. Book itself is rubbed and severely worn, boards coming away at front and hinges split but rest of binding completely sound. Moderate foxing to foreedge and early pages, some minor to moderate foxing to some interior pages but all readable; also some very minor pencil underlining and some pen and pencil notations. Some mathematics in pen on FEP.
