This is a biography of Sir Ernest Shackleton, the Antarctic explorer, published in 1924. It contains 16 chapters arranged into 3 books: Equipment, Achievement and Bafflement. It traces all of his life and expeditions until his death in 1922. It contains 20 black and white photographs and 4 maps.

This book is in good condition. Hardback, with gilt lettering to spine and front. No dustjacket. There is some bumping to the edges of the covers and the spine and there is a small stain to the back cover. There is foxing to the page edges and minor foxing to the pages. Binding is reasonably tight, although one of the plates is loose. there is a dedication on the front endpaper.
