This is the third of six adventures of the Buckinghams (following 'The Master of Maryknoll' and 'The Buckinghams at Ravenswyke').

The story is set in Brighton. Juliet and Simon find adventure and meet a number of odd characters, eventually discovering a long-hidden secret about Brighton’s Dome concert hall.

Saville was a friendly author whose love of nature and knowledge of the English countryside are evident in his stories, all of which were written about real places.
