The Mechanical Handling of Material

£75.00

Product description

"... Being a Treatise on the Handling of Material Such as Coal, Ore, Timber, &c. by Automatic or Semi-Automatic Machinery, Together with the various accessories used in the manipulation of such plant also dealing full with the handling, storing and warehousing of grain."

Large thick book with dark-green cloth covered boards, the details are on the front and spine in gilt text, the rear is plain. Some light edge-wear, more prevalent on the rear board. The corners are slightly bumped. Some small white spots on the front board. The spine is discoloured with age and exposure.

The shape of the book is distorted, probably due to its weight.

Front hinge is loose with a tear in the paste-down, but it is still well connected. The rear hinge is also loose with a split between p518/519. Overall the binding is in a reasonable condition for its age, there are no loose pages.

P25 has been torn and repaired with clear plastic tape which is now very brown with age.

The fold-out pages all appear to be present and in good order.

Some occasional foxing.

Two inscriptions on the half-title page, one in ink the other in pencil.

Due to its weight and value this item will be sent using a courier service. If you purchase it, please provide a contact number for the driver.
