The New Testament of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ

£7.99

Product description

1846. Very small rare volume measuring approx.9cm by 5cm. Leather bound with decorative stamped cover and gilt lettering to the spine. Hinge at front cover is cracked all down top to bottom but the cover is held on by the two binding strips. Small area of loss to the top of the spine, and corners are worn. Inside front cover inscriptions read Emma Birds Book and then there is an area which has been scrubbed out with loss to the top surface, and then reads 1846 followed by August 20 1835 Emma Bird. As the book wasn't published until 1845 I presume the 1835 date is a birthday. Inside the back cover is an inscription that reads John Brown, Tring Herts but this has been written over in ink to obscure. The text block edge is gilt. The binding is tight. There are occasional 'blotches' on the pages which may be the start of some foxing or may be from use. A pretty little book rather frail because of the cover.

Oxfam Books & Music Olney

Welcome to Oxfam Books And Music Olney, situated just off the market square in Stanley Court opposite the Co-Op. Come and browse our extensive selection of books, music, DVDs, computer games and cards. In our shop you can discover a great range of material from the latest modern fiction to classic literature and vintage LPs. We are always happy to receive your donations of books or music, and you can choose to Gift Aid them to Oxfam. We might also be able to collect particularly large donations - just ask. We are always interested in hearing from people who wish to volunteer with us. Just pop in to collect an application form.

Could you help us by collecting donations from donors homes? Our shop receives many offers of generous donations that we have to turn down as we do not have volunteers able to collect. We would ask you to collect in your own car, at your convenience and reimburse your petrol costs. It might be a couple of times a month and would make a really big difference to our ability to make money.
