The Old Testament in the New: the Warburtonian Lectures for 1903 - 1907

Edgar C. S. Gibson (1848 - 1942) was the Bishop of Gloucester from 1905 to 1924. In these lectures, Gibson explores the influences of the Old Testament on the New.

Condition:
Parts of the leather corners and spine have been worn or scratched off, especially along the edges. Small white marks and yellow smudges on the front buckram board. Light corner bumps and signs of shelf wear. Leather on the spine has been lightened over time. Moderate foxing on the first and last few pages. A few pages in the body of the book have some foxing around the edges. Sticker on the inside front board shows this book was given as an award to a student. A small and discrete sticker on the inside back cover shows the identity of the binder. Pages retain a good colour and are still stiff, binding is secure. Front cover has the Llandaff Diocesan coat of arms gilded on the cover, and has not been worn away. Gilding on the spine is also in good condition.
