£17.99

Product description

1930 Impression of the 1900 edition, attractively bound in leather, published by Oxford at the Clarendon Press. All edges gilded. Leather binding with gilt decoration and lettering. Printed on India paper.

The renowned Oxford Book of English Verse is a anthology of English poetry from 1250-1900. It was a highly influential and successful book, first published in 1900. Edited by Arthur Quiller-Couch, it had a very substantial influence on popular taste and perception of poetry for at least a generation.

A former owner's bookplate is attached to the inside of the cover, with a gift inscription and lines of verse written on the facing end-paper.

In good condition. There is a split down the back hinge of the spine for about half way down.. Light foxing on a few of the pages. A couple of water stains on the right edge of the first 20 or so pages. Despite these flaws, this is a bright, attractive and generally clean book
