The Playbox Annual 1914 A New Playbook for Children with many illustrations

£10.00

Product description

Publisher: Offices of the Playbox Annual, London, 1914. Hardback, 208 pages, pictorial cover and profusely illustrated in colour and black and white. No dustjacket. Cover, in pictorial boards with green spine and red and black titling, is in fair condition commensurate with age with general shelfwear, rubbing to corners and edges, bumping and fraying to spine extremities, one inch tear at bottom of spine and scuff marks to boards. Book itself is in fair condition commensurate with age with pages generally clean and sound and binding still acceptably secure although has started to split at title page exposing chords (but pages not detached). Tanning to endpapers and rear free endpaper has creasing and a flower drawing. Some strengthening tape has been neatly applied to spine on a few pages. Colour illustration on page 48/49 has sustained some damage and has been neatly backed accordingly. Overall, a decent copy of this splendid period children's book with some excellent illustrations which are very redolent of the period.
