Published in 1887 by Macmillan and Co. Includes an extensive introduction by David Masson, who was then a professor of Rhetoric and English Literature at Edinburgh University. It includes all of Milton's poems, including Paradise Lost. There is an introduction for each section of the book.

Attached to the inside back cover is a facsimile of Milton's agreement with his publisher for Paradise Lost. There is also a copy of an engraving stuck to front end papers, as well as a piece of paper on page opposite title page (presumably to cover the name of a former owner of the book).
There is a sticker on the inside front cover reading: 'Gladys L Shaw'. there is also another smaller sticker for; 'Exeter Rare Books'.

The board cover have some wear and bumping. The internal pages have a small amount of foxing but everything is in a good readable condition. there is a some looseness of the front covers, however the binding is sound. Overall in a fair condition for a book of this age.
