The Poetics of Aristotle

£19.99

Product description

1925 reprint of Fourth Edition, published by Macmillan & Co.

This is the fourth edition of the translators work and includes corrections and new comments. The text is laid out with Greek to the left and the English translation to the right. This edition was first published in 1907 and reprinted several times with this book being published in 1925.

There are inscriptions on the frontispiece: Firstly there is a name that has been crossed out with the date of 1926 underneath and then lower down 'J M T 1928 Oct' is written.

There are numerous pencil underlinings and the occasional pencil comment on the text. At the back of the book on the end papers there are two full pages of comments in pen.

Clearly a well read book with covers fairly bumped and worn, especially the corners; however the internal pages all appear to be complete and in reasonable condition and the binding is secure.
