The Power to Fly

£120.00

Product description

First Edition, published in 1971 by George Allen and Unwin Ltd. The Power to Fly by L. J. K. Setright.

From the dustjacket blurb: "Here at last is the story of the engines that made powered flight possible: the history of the piston engine in aviation. It is much more than an encyclopaedic recital of facts and figures; it is one of the most romantic tales of an engineering era..."

Very good condition hardback on green cloth boards with gilt titles to the spine. Bears only very faint signs of shelf wear to the edges, and a single small stain to the front board. Internally, the book is clean with only faint age-related yellowing on some pages. The original dust jacket is in good condition, with some light wear and tear to the edges, in particular, some chipping and tears to the top edge. The jacket also bears some yellowing and age-related browning on its inner side, and to the flaps.
