This is volume one of a three volume set published in 1864 by Bickers & Son, it covers 1555-1566.

Thick blue cloth covered boards with embossed decoration on front and rear; spine has emblem, short title and other details in gold text. Spine is darkened with age with signs of shelf wear. Corners slightly bumped. Inside boards and end-papers are brown. The frontispiece and front end-paper have some date stamps on and some old prices in pencil that could possibly be erased. Binding generally very good except the front board is a bit loose. Page ends untrimmed. Some foxing to early and later pages and most page edges but most of the text is clean. Considering its age this book is in good condition.
