Publisher: F. Johnson, Portsea, c 1880. Hardback, 12 glossy, sepia, pictorial pages in fold-out format. No dustjacket. Cover, in red boards, leather spine and gilt titling and designs to front and back, is in decent condition commensurate with age with some bumping to corners and rubbing to edges. Internally, the book, which comprises 24 glossy, sepia maritime illustrations in fold-out format depicting the voyage of the H.M Indian Troopship Euphrates, is in decent condition with a little tanning to top inside corners and one or two other places. A section of the fold-out has become detached from cover but is all complete. Facts and figures about the ship and her voyage are on a paste-down page on inside back cover. A fascinating, charming and rare little book from the heyday of the British Empire.
