Product description

1876. First Edition with nine full-page plates by Henry Holiday and published by Macmillan & Co. The book appears to have been professionally rebound in 1957 as is indicated with a note on the FEP. The binding is in a high quality leather with raised bands and gilt title to the spine. The pastedowns have marbled paper, FFEP has a previous owners name in blue ink. Interior pages are slightly tanned and have minor signs of foxing predominantly at the beginning and end pages. Title page on 69 has a small cut through the paper to the bottom right hand approx. 6cm long. the plates are all vivid and intact with a strong binding through out.
