1935 - 1st edition with 24 colour and b/w plates plus colour frontispiece.

Faded green boards with darker green titles are fair-good. Sturdy with wear and tiny splits to head/foot of spine. Occasional light marks reflecting age. Small (2cm) darker ink line to rear. Pages edges dusty with light foxing.

Internally remarkably clean, bright and well-bound although frontispiece is partially detached at base of gutter (6cm approx.). A few occasional light marks throughout. Small, faint fox mark to top margin of b/w plate opp. page 14 otherwise very good overall. Neat ink dedication to right front endpaper.

A rather different illustrated children's story with charming characters including Peggy Pear, Lady Leak, King Orange and Pineapple the horse.
