This is the 1988 reprint by Golden Grove Books of the 1938 biography of David Davies of Llandinam "Dai Davies the Ocean" as he was known, one of Wales' foremost Victorian entrepreneurs. Builder of the Barry Railway and docks, proprietor of the Ocean Coal Company, etc.. A multi-millionaire in his time and one who sprung from very humble roots. Grandfather of the Davies sisters, buyers of Impressionist art now found in the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff.

This is now a rarely found book. Hardback in very good condition. Very clean inside. the dust jacket covering is a little crumpled - see images above. No marks or inscriptions. Not ex-library
