Twilight of the Kings

£4.99

Product description

"The following chapters are in part autobiographical and in part recollections of what I have heard other people describe and relate. They are written after the fall of the Monarchy in Italy, and remembrance of that Monarchy fills many of my pages. The crepuscular character of the subject, whether it concerns the disappearance of Courts from Europe or from Asia, gives inevitably to the book a feeling as of lengthening shadows. But it is not one sun that sets in the West. A whole constellation is disappearing, as star after star dips below the horizon."

Book pages are in very good condition for its age, but with some discolouration at the edges.
Dust cover is faded and has a number of small tears at the top and bottom.
Green hardback cover is in very good condition with yellow text on spine.
Ink inscription inside front cover.
