In three volumes plus index volume,published in the "Indian Records Series for the Government of India" by John Murray in 1913. By Henry Davison Love, with maps and illustrations. "Vestiges of Old Madras 1640-1800, traced from the East India Company's records preserved at Fort St.George and the India Office, and from other sources."

Vol I: Includes fold out illustration to front of volume and"A Prospect of Fort St. George and plan of the City of Madras" in a docket at the back of the book.
Vol II: Illustrated frontispiece, map of the "limits of Madras "in a docket at the back of the book.
Vol III: Illustrated frontispiece, fold out plan, and plan of Madras in 1733 and "A Plan of the Fort St. George and the Bounds of Madras Patnam" in a docket at the back of the book. Partial split to back hinge internally.
Vol IV: 197 page index.


All volumes in good used condition, bound in yellow cloth with red, black and gold design to front and spine, some spots of foxing to edge of block, hinges good, discolouration/foxing to end papers, rough cut pages, bookseller's sticker inside back cover, bumping to corners and head and tail of spine commensurate with age.
