Vestiges of the Natural History of Creation [1887]

£14.99

Product description

This edition published in 1887 by George Routledge and Sons.

It was first published in 1844, fifteen years before Darwin's 'The Origin of Species' without the author's name appearing. This 1887 edition of Robert Chamber's work has a new introduction by Henry Morley who produced 'Morley's Universal Library'. The author was a deeply religious scientist who attempts to explain modern discoveries in astronomy and geology.

There is some light wear, bumping and marks on the covers. Some of the internal pages are lightly yellowed, and there is a former owner's bookplate attached to the inside cover. However all pages are complete and the binding is sound. In all a very reasonable condition for a book that is some 130 years old.
