Original cream pictorial boards, lettered in black., Internally, red endpapers and despite some age toning to the page edges, the numerous illustrations are fresh and bright, in black and white and colour. 4to. pp. 173.

With a preface by Agnoldomenico Pica. The text is in Italian, French, English and German. Considers the mid-century 'decorative arts' style of Italian designers. "The enthusiasts who have compiled this book make no pretence of being the first to assemble examples of the 'Italian approach' to the problem of art at the service of production, but they are the first to have done so with a diligence and breadth of vision beyond the limits of mere illustration, deliberately adopting a critical method." (preface). Sections address glass, ceramic, mosaics, enamels, woodwork, wicker, straw, laces, fabrics, tapestry, furnishings, and industrial design, including lamps.
