George Edmund Street (1824-81) was one of the leading Victorian architects, and the designer of the Law Courts in London. His early career, however, was spent in Berkshire and Oxfordshire, he was the Diocesan Architect for over thirty years. His work included the design or restoration of some 57 Berkshire churches, schools, vicarages and other buildings.This book provides an overview of Street’s life. Work, his style and heritage and focuses on his work in Berkshire.
