Heath Robinson on Leather: 48 pp, not dated but possibly 1930s. Covers browned with staple rust marks also affecting the extreme margins of many pages. Text and drawings all present and clean. Also included in the collection is " I can't improve on that, Mr. Connolly" : The Story of Connolly Leather's first hundred years 1878-1978. Measures 9 1/2" x 12 1/4".This history of the company also includes cartoons from the firm's Heath Robinson collection. The pictorial covers are in simulated leather and show light shelf wear and rubbing. The sepia text and cartoons are clean and unmarked.The third item is a catalogue for Sotheby's British Comic Art 1750 to 1980 : A Loan Exhibition of Drawings and Prints presented in association with the Horsham District of the West Sussex Association for the Disabled at Sotheby's, Summers Place, Billingshurst from Mondy 16th November to Saturday 12th December 1987. The covers are slightly creased but the text and illustrations are clean and unmarked. The fourth item is a group of five letters concerning both this exhibition and plans to establish a national gallery of British comic art. These letters (some photocopied) passed between, among others, Simon Heanage and members of the Robinson family. There are also a press cutting and photocopied articles reporting the exhibition.

One of the largest bookshops in the Oxfam network, Reading Books has more than 5000 different titles in the shop at all times. We have unusually large sections in science fiction and fantasy, literature, history, travel, children's, business and the sciences. There is plenty of space for browsing and a couple of chairs for customers who wish to inspect books more closely. We also have a catalogue of about 1000 collectable books that are kept in the backroom, and these can be brought out for customers to view on request.
