Kirchen im Fels

£19.99

Product description

Subtitled as: "Entdeckungen in Athiopien". This book, written entirely in German, describes the design and architecture of ancient Coptic churches of Ethiopia in both pictorial and textual format. The book has tan-coloured cloth boards and spine with the title in gilt lettering on the spine. There is little bumping to the corners and little shelf wear. The endpapers are well-glued to the boards and the pages are well-glued to the spine. There is hardly any discoloration of the pages although there is a little foxing to the edges of the pages. The book has many colour and black and white photographs together with drawn plans and features of the churches. The book has a dedication on the page before the title page, although this is not by the author. However, the dedication appears to be written in French by one of the contributors, Jules Leroy. The dust jacket depicts a single wrapped-around colour photograph of a church fresco. The jacket shows some wear with tears to the top edge and the spine.
