Leonardo the Anatomist

£14.99

Product description

'Leonardo the Anatomist' considers first Leonardo's general approach to anatomy, as an artist interested in the human form and later as an investigator with a fresh and unprejudiced point of view. Though he was sometimes misled by traditions, his methods resulted in an astonishing number of discoveries in both anatomy and physiology. Since he combined artistic skill and unusual powers of observation, his drawings have been called the first truly scientific illustrations in the history of anatomy. Discussing a more limited aspect of Leonardo's work, the second part of this book sums up his discoveries and deductions concerning the genito-urinary system.

Condition: Dustjacket rubbed and torn, boards rubbed and shelfworn. Some very minor foxing. Old bookseller's sticker on pastedown. Pages clean and clear, binding tight.
