Published in 1989 by Collection Berko. Black cloth bound hard covers with gilt lettering to the front and spine. Colour illustrated dust jacket. Very little in the way of shelf wear with minimal occasional edge creases to the dust jacket. All pages are clean and tightly bound. No inscriptions. Paul Mathieu was known mainly for his european landscapes but, as this book explains, also had a period in Colonial Africa. During this time, together with Alfred Bastien, he "created a gigantic Congo Panorama (150 metres long!) which since then has mysteriously disappeared". Illustrated throughout with numerous colour plates of the artist's work. Text in French and English.
