Picture & Pattern-Making by Children

£5.99

Product description

This book was published first in 1934, with this revised edition from 1950, and offers a history of the development of art teaching in schools. It is stated that few subjects in the school curriculum have advanced so extensively as visual education and on none is up-to-date information on proved methods so welcomed by the teacher. It was the purpose of this book to show what has been done and can be done in this sphere: new methods which have turned a former dull task for the child into an exciting occupation of absorbing interest.

The book itself looks fairly well used. The paper dust jacket is covered with protective plastic, but already has some rubbing and fading of the colours as well as creases and rips around the edges of both the front and back of the paper cover. Other than some slight fading of colour at the top of the spine, the blue hardback cover is in good, unmarked condition. Internally, the pages are pristine, with no marks or highlights, and with plenty of illustrations and examples of children's artwork.

Recommended for those interested in children's studies, or art education at a primary to secondary level.
