Cover, in green cloth boards with gilt titling to spine, is in very good / excellent condition with just a trace of fading on top edge. Internally the book is excellent throughout with just the lightest trace of faint tanning to page margins. The pictorial dustjacket is in fair to good condition with some shelfwear to edges, fading to spine and a one inch tear (without loss) to top of spine. A comprehensive, sumptuous and fascinating book covering the seventeenth century up to the present, packed with many beautiful illustrations in colour and b&w including watercolour studies of designs for houses, garden layouts, garden buildings, architectural features, ornamental gates and other garden features and a fascinating chapter on the Arts and Crafts Garden. A wonderful book.
