Hardback with dustwrapper - 1951. Folio

Wrapper is in fair condition. Several nibbles and open/closed tears to edges. Lightly rubbed to edges of spine and slightly grubby but not clipped. Small sticker to rear. A few very light fox marks to page edges. However, the wrapper has done its job and protected this remarkable book.

Neat, Biro dedication to top right corner of right front endpaper otherwise very good ++ internally. Full-page, tissue protected colour and b/w plates are clean and bright although tissue is not present to 3 of the b/w plates. Small mark to top margin of one of the b/w plates.

With 12 colour and 24 b/w plates, the dedication begins, 'A beautiful gift ......' It is indeed.
