Henry Lawson ('Bard of the Aussie Bush' late 19C to early 20s), his short stories read by W Roberts 2 tapes

£4.99

Product description

(read by Wyn Roberts)

As either Realist or Romancer, Henry Lawson was described in his own lifetime as 'The First Articulate Voice of the Real Australia', later to become fondly known as the 'Bard of the Bush'. The impression left by his own somewhat bleak childhood may explain why in his later life he was such a brilliant storyteller and acute observer - the Interpreter & Conscience of a Nation.

His death in 1922 left Australia with a wealth of literary works enequalled by any artists. In this 'Selection of Short Stories', Lawson captures the true Australian spirit of his Fellow Countrymen.

Side One :-
1) Story of Malachi 2) Visit of Condolence 3) Union Buries Its Dead 4) In a Wet Season 5) MacQuarie's Mate

Side Two :-
1) Man Who Forgot 2) Mystery of Dave Regan 3) His Country - After All 4) An Unfinished Love Story 5) Shooting the Moon

Side Three :-
