Sir Henry Keppel was a long serving Royal Naval officer who saw much action in the Far East and the Crimea. He rose to be Commander in Chief in Plymouth.
Macmillan hardback three volume set of the 1899 first edition. All three have dark blue cloth covered boards with gilt lettering to front and spi ne. The binding is good and there are no marks. Several illustrations. Gilt to upper border of the text block. Vol 1 340 pp: Vol 2 339: Vol3 340. There is a little wear of the top and bottom of the spline covers. There is the faint remnant of a label on the lower part of each front cover and there is a book plate on the reverse of the front cover in all three volumes.
