About this item
Signed copy of the life story of Johnson Beharry who, on the 18th March 2005, became the first living recipient of the Victoria Cross for nearly forty years.
Born in 1979 in Grenada as one of eight children, living in a two-bedroomed hut, surviving on a meagre diet of beans & rice & walking barefoot, three miles to school. At 13 Johnson Beharry quit school & worked as a decorator & labourer. In 1999 he scraped together the airfare for England & joined the Prince of Wales' Royal Regiment.
There is a crease near the spine on the front cover, otherwise the book is in very good condition.
