About this item
Son of a town trumpeter, Jacob Obrecht become one of the most prominent composers in Europe in the late-15th century. In this book, the author enlarges the picture of the social and cultural conditions that framed his world, drawing on a wealth of new archival sources and a newly discovered dated portrait that sheds light on his development as a composer.
This particular copy is in very good condition. Its exterior is clear and clean with just a few scuffs to its corners from shelf wear. As it is an ex-library book, there is a sticker on its spine with its library code on it.
The interior is spotless - all pages are free of markings, writing and highlighting. There are typical library markings on it - the back front cover has an ex-libris sticker from the University of Bristol as well as a 'withdrawn' stamp.
Overall, a highly interesting book which contains an insight into the life of Jacob Obrecht.
