The names of Hedda Hopper and Louella Parsons are still recognised today as the acknowledged queens of the Hollywood gossip columnists in their heyday. They claimed a combined readership of 75,000,000 and their power, real or imagined, was so great that they could strike terror into the hearts of the biggest stars and richest moguls of the movie industry. Only in a place as unstable as Hollywood could these two women have flourished, this biography is crammed with anecdote and as filled with gossip as any column either wrote.
