This is the biography of Honoria, wife of Sir Henry Lawrence, first British Ruler of the Punjab.' Phases' are entitled : To India 1827-1837; Wife and Mother 1837-1838 ; In Peace 1839-1841 ; In War 1842 ; Above the Battle 1843-1845 ; Ithuriel's Hour 1846-1848 ; Clash and Crisis 1849-1853 ; Adventure Brave and New 1853-1857 . 524 pp including 8 illustrations and a fold-out map ( in good condition) of North West India. The binding is cracked but not broken at p 128. The covers are rubbed and bumped but the gold lettering is only lightly worn. The cut edges and endpapers are foxed but the actual text is unaffected. Both endpapers are browned.There is the name of a previous owner inked onto the front endpaper and a black Times Book Club label still inside the back cover.

One of the largest bookshops in the Oxfam network, Reading Books has more than 5000 different titles in the shop at all times. We have unusually large sections in science fiction and fantasy, literature, history, travel, children's, business and the sciences. There is plenty of space for browsing and a couple of chairs for customers who wish to inspect books more closely. We also have a catalogue of about 1000 collectable books that are kept in the backroom, and these can be brought out for customers to view on request.
