Cover, in dark blue boards with dark blue cloth spine and gilt titling to spine, is in very good condition with just a small amount of bumping to top and bottom of spine. Book is internally in very good, as new condition with tight binding, clean, clear pages and decorated endpapers with no marks, tears or inscriptions. Dustjacket, which is not price clipped, is in good condition with a little shelfwear to top edge, some shelfwear and a little creasing to bottom edge and some minor shelfwear related marks to rear. This highly regarded and comprehensive biography of Carroll was described by Martin Gardner (author of the Annotated Alice) as ' a masterful portrait - rich in insight and in details never before recorded -- it is superb, beautifully crafted, impeccably documented'
