Margaret Thatcher - The First Ten Years (1989, Signed by the Author)

£39.99

Product description

Published in 1989 by Sidgwick & Jackson. Illustrated throughout with colour and black & white photographs by Srdja Djukanovic.

This portrait of the first British Prime Minister to win three successive general elections, reviews the progress of Thatcher during the first 10 years of her premiership. The photographer, Srdja Djukanovic, has been taking pictures of the Thatchers for many years. Published whilst Margaret Thatcher was still Prime Minister this is a fascinating account, of how she came to power and her first 10 years as PM.

Signed by the author, Lady Olga Maitland, on the front end-paper with a dedication reading: 'To Peter with very best wishes Olga Maitland'.

Lady Olga Maitland, was a right-wing Conservative politician and journalist, so this book is not always an objective account of the successes and failures of this divisive political figure.

Complete with original unclipped dust jacket. In very good condition throughout showing very little sign of any wear, except some light creasing and curling on the edges of the dust jacket.
