Product description

FIRST EDITION: Published in November 1937 by Putnam of London. Red cloth covered book in poor condition, there are stains to the front and back covers and the spine is sunned. All the corners are bumped. The hinge inside the front cover is attached but very worn and the fep is foxed. It has a name inscribed upon it. The back end paper is in similar condition without the inscription, at both ends of the book the foxing continues for a few pages and then the remainder of the book has no foxing. There is a rust stain on pages 68/69 which also continues more faintly onto pages on either side, this was caused by a piece of paper with a rusty staple found in the book. The author, Karen Blixen, was also wrote under the name 'Isak Dinesen'. The book was made into a film in 1985 which starred Robert Redford and Meryl Streep. A heavy book.
