First edition, published in 1968 by Routledge and Kegan Paul. Purple boards with unclipped dust jacket.

Born into a prosperous Anglo-Jewish circle, the author writes about her early childhood in London and Cornwall in the first world war and carries on through her school days in London to a vivid portrait of Oxford life in the thirties. She also gives a portrait of Germany in the early days of the Nazi regime in Berlin during the winter of 1935.

The dust jacket has some rubbing wear. discolouration and small tears. The board cover and rest of the book are bright and exceptionally clean.
