The Life of Raymond Raynes

£5.99

Product description

Published in 1961, 'The Life of Raymond Raynes' is a biography of the Anglican monk, Father Raynes, who was described as combining "personal holiness with a compassionate care for people". The book focuses on religious life in the twentieth century, delineated through the life of Father Raynes. The author, Nicholas Mosley commented that Father Raynes "was a person whom one had either to listen to or to deny; one could not ignore him". This biography is an enlightening text about the way that "sanctity can still be attempted in the age of materialism" and is ideal for anyone with an interest in religion, particularly in the twentieth century.

This is a harback, 1st edition of the biography in very good condition. The book has a protective glassine layer with minor signs of age to the dustjacket itself in the form of frayed edges and abrasion. However the book is full of hidden gems with a laid-in letter from the previous owner and a full page photograph of Raymond Raynes himself.
