The book is an autobiography (with every word written by the author) which covers the life of Montgomery of Alamein (Monty) from boyhood and early years through the second world war and into the post war years. It includes the account of the campaign for the liberation of Europe and puts on record much of the Montgomery - Eisenhower correspondence which would be of great interest to the Historian and alone makes the book of outstanding importance. The book will be of great interest to all who are interested in the life of this great general, in the conduct of WW2 and in the post war reconstruction of Europe. The book is in good condition its spine and covers are firm, and the dust cover is in good condition. There is some mottling on the edges and some of the early pages but the bulk of the pages are very good and very easy to read. The book is lavishly illustrated with maps, photographs and correspondence.
