Tide Of Fortune - A Family Tale

£9.99

Product description

Even if Idi Amin had not incarcerated him on death row, Manubhai Madhvani could fairly say his life has been an exciting one. Here he tells all, from his early youth in 1940's India - where he was inspired by listening to Gandhi - to his taking up leadership of a large family business in Uganda and beyond. This is a story of resilience. Known in the international business world as one of the great survivors, Madhvani explains how develipment of a personal spiritual philosophy has helped him overcome adversity. Behind his inner strength lies his relationship with his father, whose own story is also told in the book, starting with his emigration by wooden dhow from India to Africa in 1908. From that journey grew a veritable dynasty on the shores of Lake Victoria. Tide of Fortune is an astonishing account of fortunes made, lost and found again. At its heart in Amin's notorious expulsion of the Ugandan Asians in 1972, but Tide of Fortune is as much a personal spiritual odyssey - and a primer for young entrepreneurs - as it is a family tale.

Hardback book in very good condition, front and back covers have several small marks. Comes with a very good dust jacket, shelf worn and slightly marked on both the front and back covers.
