Too Late To Turn Back

£14.99

Product description

"Too Late to Turn Back", formerly entitled "Land Benighted", published in 1938, is the companion volume to Graham Greene's "Journey Without Maps". This is his cousin's version of the same journey through the jungles of Liberia in 1935. This edition with the new title was published in 1981, with a new forward by Barbara Strachwitz (formerly Greene) and a new introduction by Paul Theroux. The book is ex-library and has a plastic cover taped over the dust jacket, which has a few light soiling marks. A reference number is taped over the spine. The front end papers have 'Withdrawn' stamps and are marked where the borrowing list has been removed. Additional stamps are on the publishing details and dedication page. The rear end paper has the computer card still attached. The text block edges have some light soiling marks and a library stamp on the lower edge. There are occasional marks in the margins of inside pages. At the front of the book is a section with 8 b/w photographs taken on the journey.
