Subtitled "Completing the War Diaries of Field Marshal Viscount Alanbrooke" and based on the diaries and autobiographical notes of Field Marshal The Viscount Alanbrooke KG OM. The "Turn of the Tide" covered the first eighteen months of Lord Alanbrooke's term as Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee and this volume covers the remaining three years, including the last two years of the War. It covers Conferences such as Cairo, Malta and Yalta, the expulsion of the Germans from Italy, the liberation of France, the Rhineland campaign and the German surrender. The condition is acceptable; the dustcover is unclipped, discoloured with small tears to top and bottom edges and foxing along exposed edges. The binding is sound, in original colour with shelf wear to top and bottom of the spine. Pages are slightly yellowed with some foxing to top edges.
