Voyages and Fragments

£14.99

Product description

The personal reminiscences of a man who joined the British India Company as a lad and ended as a Captain. Judging by the global maps which form the end pages and which show the various service of the company it was indeed widely spread. Indeed we are told that for a spell it was the largest shipping company in the world with 140 vessels under its flag.

Cathedral Publishing hardback with intact DJ. There is a 2 cm irregular tear over the upper cover of the rear hinge and the DJ is a little wrinkled. The underlying boards are covered in blue cloth with gilt lettering to the spine. There is minimal wear to the top and bottom of the spine cover. There is an area of damp staining of the rear cover at it upper outer corner and there is a tide mark on the inside of the DJ. Owner's name on the title page. No other marks and the binding is good.
