Leaders and Leadership in Japan / edited by Ian Leary

£24.99

Product description

The book is in very good condition. The dust jacket presents some wear, mainly along the edges, a faded spine, a crease near the bottom of the back and a mark from a price sticker, but otherwise is in very good condition.
Internally, the previous owner's name has been stamped and inked on the title page, but otherwise the book is clean, tight and unmarked.

This book is a collection of papers given at the 1994 triennial conference of the European Association of Japanese Studies, held in Copenhagen.
This collection is of particular interest in the context of Japan's evolving societal, economic and industrial status, both from a domestic and international point of view.
The notion of leadership in Japan's group-orientated society has always presented both a quantitative and qualitative difference when compared to Western experience. This volume shows how the way leadership is expressed in Japan derives from different values and perceptions of hierarchy.
