The Compulsory Collectivization of Independent Farms in the Soviet Zone of Occupation in Germany

£12.99

Product description

This is the English language version of a report produced at the request of the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany to document the evidence for forced collectivization. This had been the avowed aim of the East German regime since 1952 and by erosion and then by frank coercion it had been achieved by 1962. This is somewhat abridged from its original. There are many facsimiles of newspaper and other publications, with partial translation. Also the testimony of some 61 individuals of their problems. It is stated that this is but a small selection of a much larger body of material held by the Ministry.

Paperback produced by the Federal Republic 8in 1962. The yellow covers are a little grubby but the binding is firm and there are no marks.

A fascinating collection of first hand evidence.
