Product description

This book is about The Landlord and Tenant Act 1927. It has been made to furnish a concise commentary on the sections and provisions of the Act. During its passage through Parliament the Bill was subjected to much hammering from the extreme wings of both parties.Frm the other side it criticised on the grounds: that it did not provide the tenant with any real security of tenure or enable him to claim the enfranchisement of his holding: that it does not include any private houses; that it is not retrospective enough: that it does not apply to building and mining and many other leases: that it expressly omits to give compensation for loss of goodwill to a number of tenants who are within the exceptions to the rule: and that the tribunals were not suitable to perform the functions and duties allotted to them. The AAppendix of Statutes contains the text of the Act, and its Schedules.

Shelf wear to edges of the cloth board cover. Pen marks to the front cover. Discolouration to the edges of pages. "Jackson Stops" sticker to inside of front binding.

Pages within are slightly yellowed, but overall clean and in very good condition
